No Yard Crawling...

It rained....

so, I sought inspiration from Sandy Koepke

a designer from California

this is one of her projects....

and it's simply marvelous!!

Can YOU Say YARD CRAWL?

We're gonna do some yard crawling this weekend!

Yep, getting up early Saturday morning to do some good ole' junking

that is, 43 miles of junking

it starts in a town about 5 miles from my house

I'm going to be in junking paradise
with all my cronies

I'm getting excited just thinking of it

this girl cannot get up early for work

BUT

for junking, I'll get up in the wee hours of the morning

good thing I work from home

ya know, the big girl job

the one that pays for all my junking!!

It's going to be so much fun...hopefully, Wilderness man will accompany me

he can drive while I scout the places along the highway

Gotta plan in mind

So are you envious yet?

Maybe just a tad?

Okay, we don't have all the cool shows like you do in

Texas, Seattle, and California

but, we have the YARD CRAWL!!

New Items & a Little Musing....

Okay, I'm off to a stellar week..

at least for me

I was able to add a couple items to the website...

but, I love this fabric and I'm trying to diversify somewhat

 Ice Cream chair below was reupholstered in a nice black fabric with hydrangeas

and they look WAAAAAY better than this pic

Funny thing, there's a theme that is prevalent in all the pictures

it's WHITE...

I love white...but, when it comes to my own decor

it's not always white

 I recently purchased a sectional couch and it's not white

its a light colored green

I've been looking a long time, I mean a long long time, for a sectional..

I wanted this one from Pottery Barn

 but it was $ 2500.00...

and I think that's ridiculously expensive for a couch...

I paid 800.00 for the one I purchased

Haven't gotten it yet...it was back ordered!

it was on sale, and they had already sold 15

funny thing though

the guy asked me if I wanted to get the couch scotch guarded...

he did his little spiel about "it costs blah blah blah and if I didn'tt ever use it over the course of 5 years

they would refund my money"

I laughed and said "you don't understand, furniture is very disposable to me...

I probably will not even have it in 2 years, let alone 5"

My current couch has been there less than 2 years..

So, another reason why I couldn't justify the $2500.00

plus. I'm just too darn cheap!!

Being in the antique business makes you always think you

can buy things at auction for less...

However, I think I'm going to splurge and get the floor lamp from Pottery Barn

the one that is in the pic above with the sectional...

it's 319.00...OUCH!!

but, its really cool...

so, here I wait patiently for my new couch to arrive.

Wilderness Man is coming home tonight...he's been outta town all week for work

YIPPEE...

I missed him...

Crazy, Stupid. Love....

Last night was rainy and dreary...

Wilderness Man is out of town for work...

I couldn't get any yardwork done

I'm totally ignoring the fact that I have to clean my garage out

yep, the garage I can't even park in...

so, what the heck, off to the movies I went...

yes, just me, myself, and I..

my friends all think I'm crazy when I go to the movies by myself...

but, really...

I'm not there to talk to anyone...

I'm there to be emersed and entertained by the movie...

so I decided to go see

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Gotta get in some chick flicks sometime.

AND

it was good...no, actually, it was really good.

It has a great line up of stars...

and it starts out really slow

and sorta

depressing...

but, hang in there...the ending is really good

and it all comes together!!

Out of 5 (5 being the best), I would give it a 3.5...

it was worth the $9.50 entry price.

So, if you get a minute and want to get your mind off

all the things that need to get done...

go see it!

You won't be disappointed.

It was hot, hot, hot...

Sales were not the best but it was a show geared for men...

and I have girlie stuff

so, it's not a big surprise

BUT

I met some awesome new friends

it was a sucess!!

We are heading to an auction tonight..

OMG- it looks fabulous!

It will be hard to contain myself..

I need to practice control-

I'll have my Wilderness Man (WM) with me...

I know I've told you...

but, he's such a keeper..

I still melt just looking into his green eyes...

hearing his voice...

you get the picture!!

he will keep me in line...

Yeah, that's the ticket...

but I think he's sorta digging the auction thingy..

we went to one last Friday and he spent more than me...

REALLY!!

and now he's starting to put things in my booth...

we might have to have a small chat...just kidding!

he's much more practical than me...

I would rather live on bread and water

and spend my money on junk...

truly!!

last weekend, at the auction, WM bought me a crock for my Valentine's Day gift..

SWOON- love him!!

he asked me to buy him an enamelware coffee pot...which I already gave him...

AGAIN, he's a keeper...loves junk!

Its the first time I've ever bought an antique for a gift for a man...

but, I have another surprise for him...

it's not an antique...it relates to fishing!!

he loves fishing, hunting, canoeing, hiking...

essentially anything outdoors..

hence the name, Wilderness Man!!

We have a little fund going so we can buy kayaks...

Romantic, huh?

But, its so much fun!!

The Domino Effect...

Have you ever purchased an item

and it turns into

one big HUGE project?

This piece did it for me...

now, I know it doesn't look like what

I typically buy for my house

but

it called to me...BIG TIME!!

It's really, I mean. really TALL...

AND NOW

my house is in total disarray!!

and get this....it's making me change my whole look and feel of my decor

no more PINKS and ROSES!!

Noooo, SAY it ain't so...

YEP.....

its sooo true!

BUT, I need to de-clutter and simplify

and so what does that mean I'm going to do with ALL my treasures...

Yep, I'm going to sell it...

and I'm tyring to list items daily or weekly

basically, as I get a free minutes..

good stuff too!!

I'll probably regret letting some stuff go

BUT...

it's time!!
